Despicable Me-Kids (and Grandad’s) Minion Bundle

License to PR sent the kids this massive bundle of Despicable Me, Minion goodies!

Despicable

I should probably explain the title of this blog actually-the bundle was sent to the children-but my Dad is one big kid himself, and when I sent him the above picture, he asked which bits were his.  After consulting with the kids, they handed over their flashing ball and pencil case!

There was absolutely tons in this box, as you can see-so this review is going to be done a little differently to my normal ones.  This effectively is part one of the review!

We separated the swim ring, swim bag, the ball, frisbee, bat and ball set, bucket and spade set, the wipes and a pack of tissues, from the rest, for a very good reason. Continue reading “Despicable Me-Kids (and Grandad’s) Minion Bundle”

Pocket Notebooks-Esmie,Rhodia & Papio Press Review

Forget the App, there’s a Pocket Notebook for that…

The lovelies over at Pocket Notebooks very kindly sent me some notebooks to review.

Pocket

Who are Pocket Notebooks?

Pocket Notebooks are on a mission, to remind people about those good old days, when we didn’t reach for our phone to make notes-when a pocket notebook was all we needed.

The noise and insistence of technology is constant. A notebook takes us to a world that we choose. A world where the only sound is our sound.

Today’s is actually World Stationery Day!!!

To coincide with this momentous day, we’re including a real variety of stationery products!

First up are these absolutely awesome Dog in a Box Page Markers.  I don’t think I can do these justice-they’re too cute for words-just look at their little heads poking over the top of my project book from Wilko!
From Mustard, each design holds 50 page markers, so you get 100 in a pack of two designs.
The stickiness doesn’t wear off too fast, meaning you can take them off of one page and re-stick them back onto another!
I literally can’t stop looking at the little doggie’s faces peeking out at me!!!
These are priced at only £4.95*!  Head over to Mustard’s website to buy them HERE!

The project book itself holds some of my future plans.  My blogging goals, our holiday plans, our Wedding renewal plans and our Family Honeymoon ideas!  As you can see (but the children cannot-it’s a secret), I use a lot of pens and pencils to decorate each page (yep, I’m a ten year old!).  One of my favourites is this truly unique gel pen from Maped.

I say it’s unique, because I’ve genuinely never used anything quite like this before.
Not only are they easier for little hands to use because of their unparalleled gliding sensation, but they’re also twistable, meaning clean hands-yes parents of messy children, clean hands!!!
Not just that (this is by far the best bit), they’re watercolour crayons!  Add water to the picture, and, voila, watercolour painting!
I literally cannot recommend these enough!  They’re available in packs of 6 (£4.19*), 10 (£6.39*) or 12 (£7.90*) colours and are SO worth the money.  To purchase, click HERE.

In one of my many other notepads, I keep my blog notes and sort money related things out.  I LOVE to highlight stuff (true stationery geekiness coming through now), and this cute little highlighter from Edding is just the ticket!
With a refillable water-based ink in neon colours, they are also non-slip and ergonomically shaped to make writing a comfortable experience!
They are available from Amazon in 7 different colours, for £3.95* and you can get them by clicking HERE!

So, the notepad addiction.  Anyone who knows me personally, will be able to confirm, I have to be organised.  I love lists, I always have lists about my lists-and that kind of list dedication (yep, that’s a thing), needs lots of notepads!

world

This Nu Elite Prestige Jotter is beautiful.  This one is A7 size with a black PU leather finish and has a handy elastic pen holder stitched into the inside.
There is also an elasticated closure to secure the pad (which is handy as I’m one of those people that stuffs all manner of things inside the pages too).

At only £3.99 from Amazon, this jotter is so worth the money-to get yours click HERE!

The other notepad is pretty much a bloggers dream.  From Sheaffer, the inside is laid out for bloggers to write their scheduled post plans in, and there are plain pages for notes (or lists-whatever takes your fancy).  The edges of the paper glisten with silver, which makes for a beautiful finish when you close the book and inspect the sides with the pages together.

Currently, the Sheaffer website is under a major reconstruction-but put it in your bookmarks and have a look when it’s up and running soon.

Today we’re featuring a craft session with my littlest kidlet, some giant black paper from Hobbycraft and some fab metallic and chalk style pens from Edding!.

getget

Olivia loves drawing the moon and stars-so the black paper from Hobbycraft gets used a lot!  We used the white chalk marker (which we also use on our family notice black board), the gold metallic pen and the silver metallic pen.

The Edding Chalk Marker, contains non-permanent ink that can be easily wiped off with a damp cloth. We use ours on our blackboard and black paper, but it can be used on almost all non-porous surfaces, such as glass, dark paintings and mirrors. Ideal for bold and prominent text, the water based, liquid chalk is odourless and is easy to use, aiding smooth writing and drawing.

Currently over on Amazon priced at £5.04*, this is a great chalk pen and well worth the money!  Click HERE to buy!

The Edding Gold PaintMarker is so easy to use.  You just give it a shake and press the nib down, and the metallic gold colour is released, ready for you to use!  It’s ideal for writing, marking and labelling on almost all materials including metal, plastic and glass. The ink is quick-drying and waterproof and gives excellent adhesion and a high wear resistance on almost all surfaces.  The colour against the black paper we use, also gives an incredible shine (perfect for drawing stars)!

Right now you can buy the gold and silver pens together from Amazon for only £8.99*!  Click HERE to buy!

The Edding Metallic Colour Pen are perfect for writing, creating and doodling (and drawing silver stars on black paper!)  Easy to hold and control, these come in a set of six different colours (gold, metallic silver, metallic red, metallic blue, green and metallic purple),

Today is Pen and Pencil Day!

penpen

To coincide with this, I’m featuring some awesome colour pens from Stabilo, and a writing pencil from Write Size!

This week my son’s homework is all about the works of Roald Dahl-so these nifty pens were his first choice to make his writing really stand out.

pen

Stabilo pointMax is a medium tipped nylon felt pen-perfect for writing or colouring. The tip of the pens are really strong-which is great for children who press a little too hard sometimes.  The colours dry quickly and don’t bleed through the paper like regular felt pens, and the thinner than usual tips mean it’s easy for Kye to write neatly.

Currently on offer over on Amazon at £9.57*, these really are a welcome addition to your child’s stationery selection!  Click HERE to buy!

Kye’s handwriting is beautiful, and that’s thanks to the Write Size pencil he uses.  Although the packaging says 10+, Kye does have larger than usual hands for a child of his age, and these are a perfect fit.
pen

Write Size pencils have been developed to stop children’s hands hurting during long writing sessions, by having a larger and softer graphite.  They also have a wider diameter for easy grip and the correct length to enable them to have great control and balance.

pen

An absolute steal at £3.99 for a pack of 5, over on the Write Size website-you can buy yours by clicking HERE!
