Track Days

Get your kids behind the wheel at Track Days!

Yes, you read right-get your kids behind the wheel!  I’ve recently come across a website-track days, that enables your child, to get behind the wheel of some of the hottest super-cars around!

Unfortunately, my eight year old, doesn’t seem to quite make the age bracket that the majority of choices on the ‘junior driving experiences’ page ask for (minimum age of 10/11 on most options), but he turns nine next February, and I have a feeling, the way time creeps up on you, he’ll be eleven in the blink of an eye-and these experiences are the perfect gift for your picky 11 year old!
There are plenty of experiences around the country though, and some only specify that your child can reach the pedals and see over the dashboard!

So  what is a ‘Junior Driving Experience’?

A junior driving experience is a place where your  child can drive cars and test their skills in a real vehicle. Has your child always wanted to drive a sports car?  Track Days can make their wish come true as they offer children and non-licence holders the chance to drive the car of their dreams without having to wait until they pass their test.  Children will pick up valuable techniques which will benefit them as they venture out on to the roads in the future!

Don’t panic, I get that these experiences for a little one can seem daunting, especially to us worrisome parents, but rest assured, they’re not as risky as they sound.
On all experiences, your child will be in the hands of a CRB checked, qualified instructor.  Some of the cars have dual controls, whilst others will have a kill-switch which will bring the vehicle safely to a stop if needed.
It’s important to remember that these experiences are not about driving the cars fast, and in most cases, they take part on a controlled course away from any high-speed activities.
The instructor will ensure the drivers have maximum fun with maximum safety. If you are planning to book some driving for 11-17 year olds, they must be accompanied by a parent or guardian over the age of 18, so they really are in safe hands!

Great!  So how do I book these experiences?

It literally couldn’t be simpler.  Head over to the Track Days website HERE, which I’ve linked to the exact Junior Experiences page you’ll need.
Simply find the specific car experience you want your child to have, filter location on the left hand side of the page, and you can either book a specific date, or buy a voucher which will be valid for 10 months from the date of purchase!

We’re eyeing up the Lamborghini experience for our Son-it’s his favourite car, but who knows what it will be when he’s old enough to reach the pedals and see over the dashboard!  Luckily, we know that there are plenty of options available for him-and it will definitely be an experience he, and your child will never forget (just don’t forget to bring your camera, so you can capture that moment they step out of their super-car, after the ride of their lives!)
