I was asked to have a go at making a Kitty in Boots snow globe!
Kitty-in-Boots is a book by Beatrix Potter, and illustrated by Quentin Blake, about a serious, well-behaved young black cat, who leads a daring double life defeating vile villains.
Our challenge (mine and the littlest kidlet), was to follow an activity sheet of instructions, and make a beautiful snow globe!
Now, I’m not even slightly artistic, creative or crafty-so I did have a mild panic over this, but it turns out-its so simple!
First, I printed the cutout image of Kitty, and stuck it onto cardboard (thank you Christmas for giving me so many cardboard boxes I could use!) We then used clear tape to make the picture waterproof (we don’t own a laminator).
We then stuck the picture and tree to the lid of an empty jam jar (I’d like to add here, I couldn’t for the life of me, find a tree that resembled a Christmas Tree, so we used a normal one), with water resistant glue, and while we waited for it to set, filled our jar with cool tap water and glycerin. We found we had lots of glitter so ended up using a lovely purple colour one, and put that in too.
We then screwed the lid onto the jar, glued it shut and VOILA, we had our snow globe!
Its so pretty, and my little one loves how much she helped with this! She’s super excited to show her big brother later!
