Your Sommelier-Wine Subscription Box Review

We were sent a wine subscription box from your sommelier to review.

Who are Your Sommelier?

An independent online wine retailer who offer weekly private offers, and monthly subscription boxes, of the finest French wines and Champagnes directly from the producers.
Created by two UK-based young French wine enthusiasts, and, after several years in the banking industry, they both decided that it was time to share their passion for wine.

Your Sommelier sell only what they would buy for themselves, and source their wine directly from producers in France.

What did we get in our box?

In our box, we received;

Chateau Relais de la Poste 2012
A classic and well made Bordeaux, that Your Sommelier explained in their note cards, has often received awards and medals for it’s great value.
I’m not a massive fan of red wine, but this was actually really nice!  Quite a heavy but fruity taste-it was, at least, palatable for this non-red drinker!

Chateau Dubois Gramont 2015
The Chateau Dubois Gramon Blanc, was blind tasted amongst many other bottles.  This one stood out for the Your Sommelier team, and, made the cut into this months box!
love white wine-and the fresh, fruity taste was incredible.

Chateau Lamartine 2011
The Chateau Lamartine 2011 is from outside of the mainland of Bordeaux.  Your Sommelier say on their note card for this particular wine, that it’s an easy-drinking Bordeaux-and, although I find most wines “easy to drink”, I do see what they mean about this one.
As previously mentioned, I’m not a massive fan of red wine-but in comparison to the first bottle of red-I actually preferred this one.  A lot more fruity, this was easy to go back to, and more enjoyable than the first.

The note cards

As above, I’ve mentioned a fair bit about note cards.
These handy little information cards, come with the box of wine you receive, and include little tips, about how and when to drink the wine, the characteristics (and some technical stuff I didn’t understand).  They also include a little area at the bottom, where you can add your own tasting notes to remember each wine you’ve been sent.

Additonally to all of the above, box subscribers receive 20% off when re-ordering from Your Sommelier!

How much?

These boxes are super affordable!
Each month, you’ll receive 3 bottles of wine (and you can cancel this at any time).
There are two types of box; Amateur Box and Expert Box.
In the Amateur Box, priced at £36, you receive three great value wines from independent domains-which are ideal for discovering and learning about French wine.
In the Expert Box, priced at £60, you receive three upmarket appellations and cuvées which are ideal for growing your knowledge and impress friends.

There is also an option for Private Offers.  To see more about this and to sign up for a box-head over to the website HERE!
