Coming off of the contraceptive pill after 13 years

So, most of you know already that my Husband and I decided that two children was enough for us-especially after losing three babies between our two children.  Aside from the fact, I personally just couldn’t deal with the grieving and heartache that miscarriage brings with it physically and mentally, our second child wasn’t as easy going as our first, and we knew two was plenty with chalk and cheesE as our kids!

Eden’s Semilla-Vitamin C Serum & Hyaluronic Acid Serum Review

I was asked by Eden’s Semilla to review two of their serums. I have been using them for the last 12 days. I decided to get the best results and review them adequately I would use the vitamin c serum on the left side of my face and the hydraulic acid serum on the right side of my face.

The active ingredients in this serum are; Vitamin C, Hyaluronic Acid, Retinol, Vitamin E, Ferulic Acid, Rosehip and Jojoba Oil.

Directions for use are; Apply a small amount to facial area and gently massage. Allow to fully absorb before application of other facial treatments.

There is also a caution section, which says to avoid contact with eyes or broken skin, and to keep out of reach of children. Also to store in a cool dry place.

Insert photo of acid serum with ingredients directions for use and caution.

On first appearances the serums look pretty similar.

Once on the skin however thereare some differences.

The vitamin A serum, is watery, therefore spreads quite thinly and easily, and the skin absorbs it much faster than usual serums. There’s no smell, which is something I always worry about when putting something super close to my nose-horrible smells!  There’s no shine, and my skin felt softer straight away on that side of my face.

The hyularanic(check spelling) acid is lots thicker so you need a bit more for more coverage but it still does spread quite easily. I found with this one, I assume because it’s thicker, takes longer to go into the skin, therefore leaving a slight shine and stickiness for a short while.

Things to report as days went by?ignore that I look shattered. Daughters birthday nothing to do with products.

Difference in skin in pics in a collage post. Do on laptop maybe.

If you had to choose one which would it be? Vitamin C because of the difference it immediately made in my skin.

Recommend.definitely

Side effects?aside from burning eye.

Thank company for letting you test.

That Time of the Month…..

I think the title says it all, but just in case you’ve got this far and are still wondering “what’s this blog about?!” ITS. ABOUT. PERIODS.

I’ll assume, if you’re a man or someone who doesn’t like speaking about bodily functions, you’ve clicked the ‘X’ at the top right of the page by now (therefore  haven’t read this bit).

If you’re sticking with it-well done! But y’know brace yourselves!

So, today is day 1 of period week for me.

I’m pretty certain I say it most months, but this is by far the worst one I’ve EVER had.

For starters, I may as well be pregnant.

Similarities of Periods to Pregnancy.

  • I feel sick.
  • I’m shattered.
  • My head hurts.
  • I’m dizzy.
  • I’m cranky.
  • I’m tearful.
  • I have restless legs.
  • I have backache.
  • My tummy is huge.
  • I’m covered in spots.
  • I can’t get comfy.
  • I think my vagina may be falling off (later pregnancy that one)

Additionally to feeling as though I may aswell be growing a baby-I also have to deal with and face up to the following…..

  • It’s too hot for hot water bottles.
  • My belly is probably bigger than usual because I’m eating my bodyweight in chocolate and cake.
  • My skin is probably bad because of the above too.
  • I have to cough loudly when messing with noisy sanitary product packaging in the bathroom because my husband is a massive prude.
  • My daughter can’t understand why she can’t come “chat” to me while I’m in the toilet.

If you’ve made it this far through this blog, you proved to me and yourself you’re;

  1. Not a prude
  2. Not a cliche man
  3. Not my husband
  4. Probably going through the same as me every month.

To all the women sharing in these issues once a month-I salute you.

We’re amazing-and so bloody strong to get through this! (Pardon the pun!)

Keep fighting ladies-only another 6 days left (on average). X
